NUST Scholarships 2020

One of the top universities in Pakistan is the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). It is mainly popular for programmes in engineering.

Under the administration of the Pakistan Armed Forces, the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) is a public research university with its main campus in Islamabad, Pakistan. The university offers doctoral and technical degrees, including undergraduate and graduate degrees.

The university offers financial support to students who have a strong GPA in academic semesters. NUST offers financial assistance to a number of students. A student gets a certain amount of cash (monthly) based on the score of their GPA.

Students with high research potential are also presented with merit-based scholarships and research grants to promote their academic and research advancement.

Merit-Based Scholarships for Undergraduates:

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate must be one of the top scorers and must have a GPA above 3.5

Merit-Based Scholarships for Masters and PhD:

Eligibility Criteria:

Per year, 20 Masters students and 4-5 PhD students. The minimum combined GPA must be 2.2 CGPA.

Additionally, the NUST GPA for the 1st semester should be 3.5 or more. Masters students are expected to work 10 hours a week as a teacher’s assistant for Bachelors programmes.


The university provides it’s own scholarship programme  NUST Need-Based Financial Aid (NFAAF).

Firstly, Students need to request an application form (NFAAF) at the time of admission. At the time of entry, this information is accessible online. Sometime later, after the beginning of the term, it may also be available.

Additionally, the provisional scholarship offer must be accepted by applicants. Admission fees must be charged in order to obtain a seat and make use of the offered scholarship.

If the candidate’s name appears on a higher choice in some other programme after submitting the dues, he/she would need to send an email to ( to request the scholarship to transfer to the new programme.


Also, they need to send an email to ( if a candidate wishes to refuse a scholarship offer.
